I am gay, I have moral values, and I am an American Citizen.

78 per cent of the Bush supporters said that “moral values” were important to them, most of all
those who voted for the man said he is a person who shares their values.  Almost half of America
- assuming that the elections were not stolen- is telling me that I have no moral values because I
support women right to choose, equality for all and because I am gay. In Ohio, a Bush supporter
had a sign that read “Finally, a Christian fighting evil. Thank you, George Bush”.  With all
respect, Mr. Supporter, I am taking your sign very personally unless you are a recovering
alcoholic fighting the evil bottle, which gives you a common denominator with your man.
I have moral values.  I oppose the war on Iraq, the killing of innocent people, the death of our
own who were sent there, thinking they were defending America while giving freedom and
happiness to the Iraqis.  I oppose giving life to children who are not wanted, I oppose racism,
poverty, the death penalty and hatred.
I am American, I work and pay taxes but my rights are limited because I was born different. My
difference is viewed as a sin or a disease for many who said they have “moral values”, therefore
it is said that I should be treated differently.
Be happy, Mr. Supporter, Karl Rove made a statement today regarding my future and the one
of my brothers and sisters.  He said that the man you elected will propose and support a ban on
gay marriage nation wide.  Half of America is going to be happy, gays won’t be a threat to their
lives. Isn’t great? I suppose this is part of his war on terror.
But I have one thing in common with you mister. I am a citizen and I use one of my other given
rights, I vote and I protest.
See you around.
