| 4th anniversary of the start of the Iraq War |
| Day One: Saturday March 17, 2007 the Bryn Mawr Coalition joined the Delaware County Wage Peace & Justice for a Countywide Vigil at major intersections across the entire length of Baltimore Pike in Delaware County from Chester County border to the Philadelphia line. We took the corner of Baltimore Pike and Springfield road. Freezing cold, strong wind, hard to find a place to stand along the icy road, we stayed from 1PM to 2:15PM. The traffic was very good and we got support from most people, only two thumbs down! The Delaware County Daily Times wrote a terrific article. | DAY TWO: Monday, March 19th, The Bryn Mawr Peace Coalition joined MoveON in Bryn Mawr along Lancaster Avenue by the library at 6PM. We were over one hundred people (I counted 106). It was a success! We got a terrific support, cars blowing their horns, many thumbs up ( one coming from a man who just came back from Iraq), ABC news, NBC news, the Main Line Life newspapers, Radnor Studio 21 TV - they all came! Later on we INDEED made the news at 11PM on ABC and NBC! In fact we were the only group protesting the war that the News covered. Please click on the photo below: |
