Limited by the words count allowed by the "Community Voice" of the Philadelphia Inquirer, here is
my answer to the questions I was asked: What are your hopes and goals for the new year (2005)

I have been very frustrated by the lack of awareness of the American public concerning the events
following the tragedy of 9/11. I blame the media, mostly owned by big corporations, which is selective
in its coverage of the news and a champion in distorting information. But I also blame the lack of
curiosity and involvement of too many who perhaps because it is easier to be in denial choose to be
silent. My hope for the coming new year is that people stop to be complaisant and realize that they
have the power to get informed and use that power.

I am speaking about the war on Iraq, the tragic number of people who still believe that Saddam
Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and therefore support the war.

I have many hopes for this coming new year. I like to see our troops back from Iraq, I never
supported the war, and I cannot bear hearing of more of our children being killed. I do not have a
crystal ball regarding the future of Iraq, but whenever the country will have elections I wish they won't
happen under pressure and represents all the people.

I hope that we do not forget the real reason we were given for attacking Iraq, and that the responsible
for this illegitimate war will be brought to justice.

I hope that all Americans will work together in resolving the unjust treatment of the gay community,
and we can be proud to give equality to all.

My goals? I will continue what I have been doing. I will support peace and justice.
